The City Clubhouse is a spectacular historic building in downtown San Francisco offering members and guests hotel rooms, dining, banquet and athletic facilities along with concierge services, locker rooms, massage, steam/sauna, shoeshine, barber and a sports shop. The Athletic facilities include two indoor pools, handball and squash courts, exercise studios, two gymnasiums and an indoor running track. The City Clubhouse hosts 500+ member events each year including wine dinners, weddings, sports tournaments, children's holiday parties and events for all occasions.

City Clubhouse staff is to "wow" members by exceeding expectations at every opportunity. City Clubhouse employs in these departments: athletics, culinary, restaurant, banquet, housekeeping, front office, IT, membership, accounting, engineering, communications, massage and human resources.
  The Lakeside Clubhouse overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Host to numerous US Open Championships, members enjoy two golf courses, the Lake and Ocean, and one executive course, the Cliffs. 

Lakeside Clubhouse's largest department, Golf Maintenance, includes over 50 employees who maintain the beauty of the grounds and the playing conditions of the courses. The Golf Shop hosts over 60 tournaments each year.

Overlooking the golf courses, the Lakeside Clubhouse offers two dining facilities, locker rooms, massage, a fitness center with lap pool and banquet facilities. It hosts many member events each year including private parties, weddings, funerals, birthday parties and more.

    ACCOUNTING
Purchasing Manager
Full time/exempt position. Reports to the Controller and works closely with both clubhouse managers. The Olympic Club is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee and coordinate purchasing, issuing and receiving of products for both of our properties (City Clubhouse and Lakeside Campus). Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Complete the conversion from a manual purchasing system to an electronic purchasing system (BirchStreet); including managing the database and training staff. Supervise, lead, train receiving/storeroom staff of 3 located at both campuses with early emphasis on the transition to the electronic purchasing system. Obtain competitive bids and negotiate pricing per department manager’s specifications. Recommend additional user friendly operating procedures while maintaining internal controls. Maintain control of all storerooms (food, beverage, china, glass, silver). Organize and summarize semi-annual inventory reports of china, glass and silver inventories and monthly food and beverage inventories and additional reports as requested by the Controller or Club Management.

Minimum qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent experience plus minimum of 2 years experience in a purchasing position. Fluent English written and oral communication skills. Solid negotiating skills. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Must have ability and means to travel between properties on a regular, ongoing basis. Able and willing to work evenings and weekends based on operational needs. Regular attendance and punctuality required. Qualifications Desired: Hospitality and/or Food and Beverage purchasing experience preferred. Working knowledge of automated purchasing and inventory systems. Attention to detail in processes and procedures. Able to successfully work with a diverse group of employees. Additional languages (especially Spanish, Cantonese and/or Tagalog) helpful.                                                  ATHLETICS

Part-time Basketball Scorekeeper
Part-time / Non-Exempt position. Reports to Basketball Director. Individuals will keep score of highly organized Olympic Club basketball games. Also, will compile and track basketball team and individual statistics.
Must be available Monday-Thursday, 5:00 to 9pm. This is a year-round position.

Minimum qualifications: Previous basketball scorekeeping experience preferred. Must have working knowledge of basketball statistic-keeping and scorekeeping practices. Individual must be very responsible, reliable and ready to work in a team-oriented atmosphere. 
                                         
Basketball Coach for Elite AAU program
Part-time, seasonal, non-exempt and reports to the Basketball Director of The Olympic Club. The Olympic Club in San Francisco, the oldest private athletic club in the nation, is seeking talented and dedicated teachers of basketball to coach in our OC Elite AAU program. The OC Elite program is widely recognized as the premier teaching AAU program in the Bay Area. Those interested in applying should have a strong focus on teaching skill development and improving players. Practices are held from 4:00-6:00pm twice a week and games and tournaments are played on weekends. OC Elite currently features 13 level 1 AAU teams (boys and girls), many of which are amongst the best teams in the Bay Area. Both Head and Asst. Coaching positions are available to strong candidates. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coaching all weekly team practices. Attending all home and away games, weekend travel will be necessary. Must be able to follow programs curriculum guidelines for teaching fundamentals

Minimum Requirements: Must have a great enthusiasm for the game and for working with young players. Must have an excellent ability/or potential ability to teach basketball skills to individuals and teams. Proficient knowledge of basketball rules and techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills. Assistant Swim Coach
Part-time/Non-exempt position. Reports to Aquatics Director. Assist with the Junior Swim Program, a competitive year round swim program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Running individual group practices emphasizing proper technique and conditioning of swimmers ages 8-12 years old. Candidates must be able to instill the concepts of teamwork and sportsmanship into each participant. Also, attend USA Swimming meets, assist in preparing swimmers for before and during competitions, be a positive influence to all swimmers and help instill an early love for the sport. Work closely with the Aquatics Director to provide feedback and develop strategies that will promote the success of the swimmers. Communicate with parents as needed.

Minimum qualifications: 2+ years of coaching experience. USA Swimming Coach member with minimum current education and safety requirements including CPR, First Aid, AED and Safety Training for Coaches or Life Guard Certification; level 1 ASCA certification. Ability to motivate athletes in a positive manner. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills; Intermediate Microsoft Office and Outlook necessary. Available to work weekdays 3pm – 7pm and some weekends. Hy-Tek Meet Manager and basic Water Polo knowledge a plus.

Lifeguard
Part-time/non-exempt position.  Reports to the Aquatics Director. Must be available to work weekdays 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, as well as weekends and be flexible to work other days and times as needed. 

Minimum qualifications:Excellent English communication skills required. Advanced swimming skills, Advanced Life Saving Certification, CPR certification and Advanced First Aid certification required. Proven customer service skills and ability to work well with children.

                                            FOOD AND BEVERAGE 

Restaurant Manager
Full time/Exempt.  Reports to the City Club Manager.  Oversee and manage daily operations of a 100+ seat full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, two bars and a self-service order and pick-up counter.  Hire, train, manage and mentor professional development of all front-of-house food and beverage staff including Servers, Bussers, Bartenders, Hosts, etc.  Lead, train and motivate staff in providing quality member service, sequence of service, professionalism, upselling, service recovery and cleanliness.  Maintain an “on the floor” presence during peak hours and manage the overall experience of the members and service. Schedule and manage staff to meet the needs of the business and comply with the collective bargaining agreement.  Implement standards, accountability measures and incentives for staff.  Work with The Olympic Club F&B and Culinary teams to ensure food quality, consistency, appearance and value.  Assist with menu creation, menu specials and developing special events.  Ensure compliance with all occupational, health and safety standards, alcohol service laws and Club policies.  Respond to and resolve any member/guest inquiries, issues, concerns or dining experiences.  Financial and accounting responsibilities include maintaining inventory, ordering supplies and beverages, forecasting, budgeting, processing invoices, implementing cost controls and managing labor costs.  Create restaurant/bar promotions to drive business and increase revenue.

Minimum qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Hospitality Management, Business or related field; or equivalent work experience AND minimum three (3) years restaurant/bar/gastro-pub management experience with a history of progressively increasing management responsibilities. Up-to-date Food Handlers Card or ServeSafe Certification.  Fluent English oral and written communication skills.  Knowledge of and enthusiasm for food, wine and beverages.  Proven leadership skills, ability to motivate others and build teams.  Working knowledge of Outlook, MS Office, POS systems, inventory/purchasing systems and timekeeping systems.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include working evenings, weekends, holidays, long work hours and/or 6 -7 day work weeks during peak times of the year.  Punctual and reliable attendance is required.  Spanish or Cantonese oral communication skills, previous union experience and experience planning and opening a restaurant or bar are pluses.

Dining and Banquets Manager
Full Time/Exempt. Reports to the Food and Beverage Operations Manager. Candidate should have a passion for creating an outstanding guest service experience, and be able to ensure that all member requests and expectations are met and exceeded on a daily basis. Candidate must be able to work independently, without direct supervision as well as be a team player. Candidate also must be able to think clearly, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner, while exercising good judgment in all situations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Primary responsibility of the overall execution of the day to day operation of the Main Dining Room as well as the Grill Room and Bar, maintain reservations via website and phone, update menus , floor supervision, interact with members and ensure the quality of guest and member service, lead, develop and hold accountable standards and procedures for the Food and Beverage staff including customer service standards and Food and Beverage guidelines, conduct daily pre-shift meetings, monthly departmental meetings and comprehensive training sessions to include but not limited to service standards, daily operational updates, menu items/specials and safety, address and resolve employee issues and union grievances, assist in the planning and execution of all banquet events, assist in overall direction, coordination and ongoing evaluation of the Food and Beverage operation.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalency or equivalent experience required; hospitality major preferred. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required. Minimum of 4-6 years in the Food and Beverage industry with a history of progressively increasing management responsibilities in fine dining or banquets in a private club, hotel or restaurant required. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including working extended hours, evenings and weekends required. Basic computer literacy required including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Previous experience in a union environment highly preferred. Language skills in Spanish or Cantonese a plus. 
                                             
Café Attendant
Local 2 Union position. Reports to the Executive Chef. Scheduling is based on position seniority with shifts being assigned based on operational needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provide excellent customer service to members and guests in a busy café. Take down all food orders, cook menu items and serve meals. Enter in all food purchases in a POS system. Prepare cold or hot entrees and salads according to specified recipes and portion sizes. Create and serve various drink and smoothie orders. Wash, peel, cut, and chop fruits and vegetables. Maintain sanitation and safety standards at all times in work areas and during food handling, production, and storage. Check the food temperatures prior to food being served. Replenish food supplies from storeroom as needed. Perform other work as assigned.

Minimum qualifications: Must 2 years experience working in a cook position. Must have outstanding customer service and communication skills, be a team player and be able to follow instructions and procedures carefully. Must have experience working in a fast paced kitchen and be able work well under pressure. Must have excellent safety and sanitation skills. Flexible schedule needed. Intermediate verbal communication skills in English required. Have a valid state recognized alcohol awareness course certificate such as TIPS, CARE or TEAM. Be able to lift 30 lbs and push/ pull 50 lbs.

Local 2 union position (K-list). Reports to the Executive Chef. Scheduling is by position seniority with shifts being assigned based on operational needs at both the Lakeside and City Clubhouse. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Under general guidance of the Executive Chef, work on-call as needed for various work stations such as a line cook, pantry cook, hotline and/ or café attendant . Check and set-up menu items and replace as necessary, prepare buffet items as needed, prepare and cook menu items, and perform banquet preparation and other duties. Assist in the preparation of cold entrees, salads, appetizers, etc. Prepare foods, such as washing and peeling fruits and vegetables, cutting, chopping and similar duties. Maintains sanitation and safety standards at all times in work areas and during food handling, production, and storage. Check the food temperatures prior to food being served and during the course of service. Perform other work as assigned.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Take beverage orders, serve items to members and guests, and assist with team service and banquets. Minimum qualifications: Excellent customer service skills required. Previous experience in a similar upscale environment preferred. Must be able to call orders and have knowledge of alcohol beverages including brand names, recipes, garnishes and wines. Must be able to carry a full cocktail tray in one hand. Groundkeeper
Local 1877 Union / Non-exempt position. Reports to Golf Course Superintendent. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Maintain golf courses. Outdoor position using various lawn/gardening equipment and techniques. Heavy use of hand tools and specialized mowing equipment.

Minimum qualifications: Previous landscaping and/or gardening experience required. Must have basic verbal English communication skills. Must have a valid California Driver’s license; clean motor vehicle report, proven customer service skills. Ability to report for shifts beginning at 5:30am.
                                                   
Golf Maintenance Internship
Nonexempt/Temporary/Seasonal (3-4 months).  Reports to the Director of Golf.  Train to maintain all landscaped areas of the golf courses including all greens, tees, approaches, roughs, fairways, bunkers, cart paths, irrigation system, trees, etc.  Training includes mowing using walking, riding or rotary mower, raking and and maintaining bunkers, course setup/maintenance including setting pins, tees and rolling greens & filling divots, maintaining ornamental landscaped beds, pulling weeds, cleaning up debris, clearing cart paths, and trimming grasses around sprinkler heads and base of trees.  Additional training may include certification in proper application of pesticides and fertilizer, and irrigation system repair/maintenance.

Minimum qualifications:  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and long distances. Able and willing to work early morning hours, evenings, weekends and overtime as requested.  Must possess a current, valid Driver’s License with clean DMV record.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to grasp and carry out instructions.  Prior golf course maintenance experience and enrollment in a turf management program preferred. Professional work ethic, punctual, reliable, trustworthy and be a team player. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.


                                                  GOLF SHOP
Part Time Outside Services Attendant
Part time /non-exempt position. Reports to the Outside Services Supervisor. Must be available to work on Saturdays and Sundays. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist members and guests with all aspects of the Outside Services operation including storing/retrieving golf bags, cleaning clubs, operating driving range picker, staging and washing golf carts, shuttling players from 18th green, answering telephones, responding to and coordinating caddie requests. Assisting members and guests with personal vehicles including parking and washing cars. Range/pavilion duties include distribution of range balls to members and guests, stocking, storing, keeping range balls clean of any debris and charging members for range balls with technology provided (POS system). Ensure all the amenities on the range are in working capacity each day. Other duties as assigned by Club management.

Minimum qualifications: Able and willing to run and stand for long periods of time. Able and willing to work holidays, evenings, weekends and overtime as requested. Possesses current, valid California State Driver License with clean DMV record. Able to safely drive and park vehicles of all sizes with automatic and manual transmissions. Fluent oral English communication skills and intermediate English written communication skills. Computer literate/able to efficiently operate a handheld computer and POS system. Willing and able to communicate effectively and enforce Club policies and house rules with Club members and guests. Prior valet or golf club experience preferred.
